Jamboree 2015 - Meet the Speaker: L.A. "Butch" Hibben, CLA

Butch is a Certified Legacy Advisor and the Assistant Director of the Corona (CA) Family History Center. Knowing about his ancestry has been as much a part of his life as knowing the basic life skills. Fortunate enough to speak with his forbears about their experiences as Arizona pioneers, Butch has remembered the stories and the roles his family played in the history of the states of Utah and Arizona.

Butch, like his ancestor pioneers, is a trailblazer: for him, it was in the field of computers. He became involved in technology in the late 1950's while serving in the U.S. Navy. After his discharge, he continued in the field as a computer technician for many years until his retirement in 2008. An audio specialist and former square dance caller, it is no wonder that he was inspired to assist others in preserving their heritage when he was introduced to the Living Legacy Project in 2011. Again, he is carrying on his ancestors' tradition of pioneering, now in the worked of on-line preservation. He lives in Riverside County and can be reached at the Living Legacy Project page on www.circlemending.org.
